The Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Executive Committee elected Oscar Rodriguez as vice president for Hispanic Ministries & Spanish Evangelism during its regularly scheduled meeting on August 27, 2026. Rodriguez will assume his new responsibilities on October 1, 2026.
Rodriguez brings 15 years of pastoral and administrative ministry experience within the Texas and New Jersey conferences. He has served as pastor of the Houston Spanish West Seventh-day Adventist Church since 2019.
Before joining the Texas Conference, Rodriguez served for more than seven years in the New Jersey Conference, where he led multicultural district ministries that included both Spanish- and English-speaking congregations.
In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Rodriguez has served on the Texas Conference Board of Education since 2023, advocating for strong partnerships among churches, schools, and families while supporting the mission of Adventist education.
Rodriguez was ordained to the gospel ministry by the New Jersey Conference of Seventh-day Adventists on September 16, 2017. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in theology from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tenn., in 2011.
“Throughout his ministry, Oscar has demonstrated a collaborative leadership style and commitment to strengthening churches through evangelism, pastoral support, communication, and mission-focused initiatives,” Ismael A. Castillo, Ph.D., president of the Texas Conference, said. “His extensive experience working with Hispanic, bilingual, and multicultural congregations has prepared him well for his new role serving the growing Hispanic membership of the Texas Conference.”
As vice president for Hispanic Ministries & Spanish Evangelism, Rodriguez will provide leadership and support for Hispanic ministries across the Texas Conference, working closely with pastors and congregations to advance evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and church growth.
