April 2024 Events
Master Guide Bible Achievement – These events encourage Master Guide clubs to study and learn about the Bible. This year, they are studying the books of Joshua and Judges and the introduction to the Bible commentary for those books. The conference-level event will be held on Sabbath, April 27, 2024, at the Houston Spanish Spring Branch Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1614 Bingle Rd., Houston, TX 77055, at 1:30 pm. May 2024 Events
Men’s Ministries | Spanish Retreat – Registration is still open for the Texas Conference Hispanic Men’s Retreat scheduled for May 3-5, 2024, in Waxahachie, Texas. Viajeros conquistando las alturas features Itiel Arroyo, Yeury Ferreira and Roger Hernandez with musical guest Steve Green. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Lake Whitney Ranch Work Bee – Lake Whitney Ranch Directors need 50 volunteers to help with a Work Bee scheduled for Sunday, May 5, 2024. They are looking for plumbers, carpenters, painters, landscapers and general volunteers to help with projects on the grounds. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Virtual Officers’ Training – Because church volunteers are the heart and soul of each congregation, the Texas Conference is offering local church training featuring best practices, especially for new volunteers, to help them as they serve in their positions. This online training, scheduled for Sabbath, May 11, 2024, at 4 pm, is available in English and Spanish. It is easy to join. Step 1: Log in to the English [TexasAdventist.org/virtual-training-24] or Spanish [TexasAdventist.org/entrenamiento-virtual-24] website at 4 pm. Step 2: Watch the opening session (at the top of the web page). Step 3: After the opening session, pick a workshop to join by clicking the title. It will redirect you to Microsoft Teams to join the workshop. Step 4: After the first workshop concludes, return to the original website to select the title of the second workshop you would like to join. Again, It will redirect you to Microsoft Teams to join the workshop. More information will be available on those websites in the next few weeks. Tutoriales de Liderazgo 360 – Join us live on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 7:30 pm on Facebook or YouTube @HispanosTXC for this monthly program, providing training tips and ideas for all levels of church leadership. May’s program will feature Texas Conference Vice President for Education Kisha Norris and Texas Conference Associate Superintendent for Education Smith Castillo with host Manuel Ibuado, Keene Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church pastor in Keene, Texas.
Leadership 360 – Episode 5 with Dr. Tom Grove and Texas Conference Youth & Club Ministries Director Christian Ponciano drops May 16, 2024, at 10 am. During this episode, they discuss “Raising Disciples through Youth Ministry” and provide practical ideas on how every church can create a place where children and youth can be discipled for the Kingdom of God. World Adventurer Day – For the first time, Adventurers and Adventurers’ leaders can celebrate World Adventurer Day. Scheduled for Sabbath, May 18, 2024, they join more than one million Adventurers, ages 4-9, who actively participate in clubs at Seventh-day Adventist Churches worldwide. This program is designed to strengthen parent-child relationships. Adventurer clubs and church leaders, please plan to honor this special day at your church and tag your photos and videos #TXWAD24 so we can see how you celebrate the FIRST annual World Adventurer Day!
Donations Operations Certification Course | Dallas/Fort Worth area – Register for this training event to learn how to assist during a disaster. Scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Grand Prairie Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4125 Lake Ridge Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75052, this course is available in English and Spanish. Summer YouthRush – Please keep YouthRush participants in prayer as they work in different areas of the Texas Conference from May 23 to August 3, 2024, offering spiritual books for donations. Many receive scholarship funds from those donations to help them pay for their tuition at Southwestern Adventist University or other Adventist institutions.
Summer Camp at Lake Whitney Ranch – The full summer camp weeks are back, and staff begin preparing on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Instituto de Discipulado de Texas – Join this virtual event on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7:30 pm live on Facebook or YouTube @HispanosTXC for the fifth module, “Principles and Practices of Teaching” with Ismael Castillo, president of Montemorelos University.
