Iris Silva-Escobar was born in the lush, agricultural city of San Miguel, El Salvador. Silva-Escobar is the eldest of four children and raised by hard working Seventh-day Adventist parents. After graduating from high school, she moved to Dallas, Texas.
Upon arriving in the United States Silva-Escobar went to school to learn English as a second language (Interactive Learning Systems Collage), and then worked various cashier and secretary jobs until she joined the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Alvarado, Texas, Youth & Club Ministries in 2009. She has served as administrative assistant to different Youth directors and associate directors during her ministry.
Iris married Mario Escobar in 2007. They have three boys: Jonathan, David and Samuel.
As a former Adventurer and Pathfinder, Silva-Escobar finds satisfaction in being part of the great Texas Youth team. She loves outdoors, working around kids and particularly delights in summertime in Texas and serving others until Jesus’ soon return!
