Texas Vision – Alvarado Church
Texas Vision is a conference-focused offering dedicated to specific projects in the Texas Conference. Currently, the offering is divided in the following ways:
• 50% for Lake Whitney Ranch development
• 25% for academy student aid
• 25% for church and school buildings
The Alvarado English Seventh-day Adventist Church in North Texas benefited from Texas Vision funds when building its new church sanctuary. Members celebrated the completion of the new facility with a dedication service on October 5, 2024.
A committed group of people with Maranatha Volunteers International (Maranatha) was instrumental in framing the structure the year prior. Because of supply delays and inclement weather, they were not able to install all of the trusses. However, the volunteers assisted with numerous other projects.
They shared the Maranatha tradition of scripture signing, writing each volunteer’s favorite scripture on the interior frames before hanging the sheetrock. Alvarado church members gathered to add their favorite scriptures to the frames on January 20, 2024, before the inside was completed.
The exterior was finished in March 2024, with the “green tag” issued by the city in June 2024. The inside wiring, insulation, sheetrock, painting, flooring and plumbing were finished by mid-August and ready for interior finishing.
“It was a glorious day in October when we gathered to dedicate the new structure,” Alvarado church member Terrie Bayless shared. “We appreciate all the volunteers and donors who helped us complete this project, and we look forward to the day when it is debt-free.”
The church’s Facebook page, “alvaradosda,” features pictures and videos of the construction process. The church members covet your prayers as they minister to the Alvarado community.
As our conference theme states, Together As One, we can make a difference for each of these areas—to increase housing and meeting space at the ranch for people of all ages to gather and learn more about Jesus, to enable teenagers to attend one of our academies, to assist churches and schools with their much-needed building projects.
