The Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Executive Committee voted Teymi Townsend to assistant director for Communication & Public Relations effective June 1, 2022.
“Having worked with Teymi previously, I was familiar with her skill set,” Kenn Dixon, Texas Conference vice president for Communication & Public Relations, shared. “I knew she would be an asset to our organization.”
Since joining the Texas Conference, Townsend has assisted with video production, including broadcasting from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists session in St. Louis, Missouri. She posts most of the social graphics seen on the “TexasAdventist” social channels: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Plus, her photographs from major conference events are featured on the “TexasAdvenitst” Flickr account.
Townsend received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Media: Photojournalism with a minor in Marketing from Oakwood University based in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2016. She has been a freelance photographer and graphic designer since 2013.
In April 2018, Townsend joined the Oakwood University staff as a photographer, social media coordinator and graphic designer. She was awarded the American Graphic Design Award from Graphic Design USA her first year there.
