Communication Workshop

Find more information and register here for the Dallas Area Communication Workshop scheduled for April 13, 2024, from 2 to 4 pm at the Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1201 W Belt Line Rd, Richardson, TX 75080.

Registration is free but required to be eligible for prizes. You’ll need to be there to win.

Texas Conference Vice President for Communication & Public Relations Kenn Dixon will preach during the worship service.

A complimentary lunch is provided (if requested) for registered participants following the worship service.

2:00 pm Workshop Options

English only – Brand Storytelling for Church Communicators (Kenn Dixon) Teaches church communication leaders public relations tools and perceptions they need as communicators for the use of storytelling in brand image building and reinforcement. The learning will include a grasp of the basic principles of effective storytelling, understanding how the craft comes in to create appealing stories that connect with brand values, and how to pull this into PR campaigns to strike up the target audience’s participation and interaction.

Spanish only – Tips & Tricks for Livestreaming (Andy Esqueche) Biteproject.com shared that 62% of those who attended their churches online continued doing so after the pandemic. Knowing the importance of connecting with your online community, this workshop will discuss free and paid tools and services to help your church transmit its services. Areas covered will include the Internet, digital sound, livestream camera, titler, OBS, Restream, Resi, etc. In addition, this workshop will cover the technical aspects, evaluate the equipment you already have and discuss best practices.

English with Spanish assistance, if necessary – Achieving Your Best Sound (Aarom Meador with Eliezer Garcia) No matter the size of a church, sound issues are common. This workshop will discuss different ways to achieve your best sound. From piano or organ mics, special musicians to choirs, pulpit speakers to panel guests, all require mics in various locations. Learn what the best practice is, along with best practices/solutions for feedback. Also included in this workshop are tips for ensuring your live stream sounds just as great as your in-house sound.

English only – Why do I only have Adventists Watching Our LiveStream? (Kenn Dixon) Understanding how to reach publics and audiences in a personal and dynamic way.  How to improve the look and feel of your church livestreaming that will draw more unchurched seekers.  Review some best practices for video and audio environments to reflect what people are searching for in an online church. 

Spanish only – Design & Presentation Tools for Your Best Look (Jannet Diaz & Heber Sorto) Graphics and visual images are a great way to connect with people. This workshop will help attendees understand and use programs such as ProPresenter, EasyWorship and other free and paid tools for church presentations and karaoke. It will also cover the essential elements of printed designs using CANVA, Adobe, and other free and paid software that are different from digital media used on social networks.

English with Spanish assistance, if necessary – Audio Q&A (Aarom Meador with Eliezer Garcia) This workshop hour is dedicated to answering questions regarding audio problems your church is currently having.
