Church Members Invited to Join 145 Days of Focused Prayer

“The Texas Conference has been celebrating 145 years of ministry in the great state of Texas,” Texas Conference President Elton DeMoraes excitedly shares. “Christian Brothers and sisters before us worked tirelessly to share the gospel within their circle of influence.”

“Because we believe in the power of prayer and want to honor our heritage, on Monday, May 27, 2024, we will begin 145 days of prayer,” Texas Conference Prayer Ministries Coordinator Roderic Bishop added.

Every day at 7 am and 7 pm, you are encouraged to pray for the Texas Conference family and new believers to experience God’s power. God’s presence. God’s passion. God’s provision. God’s protection. God’s strength. God’s love.

In addition to daily prayer, every Texas Conference congregation is encouraged to hold a series of meetings in their area before October 2024, designed to share God’s love with their community.

To unite this movement, congregations are encouraged to call their meetings HOPE24. A finale HOPE24 series with world-renowned speaker Mark Finley is planned for October 17-19, 2024. Those meetings will be held in person in Houston and virtually so all congregations can watch from their home churches.

“Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see 1,450 new believers joining us in October to watch the finale series?” DeMoraes asks. “Join us as we pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the many who are hurting.”

HOPE24 is designed to share the everlasting hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. “Ephesians 3 reminds us that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we may ask or think,” DeMoraes adds. “Together As One, let’s pray for HOPE24 to be a life-changing experience, for opportunities to share God’s hope and love with others and for a renewal in our own lives.”

Make plans to join the HOPE24 finale in person or online on October 17-19, 2024, and pray wherever you are beginning May 27, 2024.

Together As One, let’s give HOPE to each Texas community.

Tamara Michalenko Terry, M.A., APR, is an associate director for Communication & Public Relations for the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
