Olga Falakiseni Named Associate Director for Youth & Young Adult Ministries

Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Executive Committee voted Olga Falakiseni as associate director for Youth & Young Adult Ministries during its final meeting of the year held Thursday, December 7, 2023. She will begin her new position on January 1, 2024.

A 2014 graduate of Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas, Falakiseni began her pastoral career as a part-time associate pastor in August 2014 at the Joshua Crossroads Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church in Joshua, Texas. There, she assisted with youth and young adult ministries, children’s church, family ministries, club ministries and Bible studies.

In 2019, she transitioned to the Killeen Seventh-day Adventist Church in Killeen, Texas, where she served as an associate pastor. In addition to her pastoral responsibilities, she was actively involved with the audio/visual team and youth and young adult ministries. She also volunteered as a choir instructor and sports coach at Killeen Adventist Junior Academy. Falakiseni was commissioned into the gospel ministry in October 2020.

“We interviewed several individuals for this position,” shared Texas Conference President Elton DeMoraes. “Pastor Falakiseni stood out as the right person for this time. We are happy to see her career grow in the Texas Conference.”

With the vote, the department returned to Youth & Young Adult Ministries. “We tried the departments separately for the past four years [Club & Youth Ministries and Young Adult Ministries],” DeMoraes explained. “The overlap between youth and young adult ministries was so apparent that it made sense to unite it again, for continuity in keeping our connections with our youth as they transition into young adults.”

“It’s exciting to combine the ministries again,” Texas Conference Youth & Young Adult Ministries Director Christian Ponciano added. “Our club ministries are so strong; we want to keep that momentum going through their young adult years. I am thrilled to have Pastor Falakiseni joining the team to increase our effectiveness even more with our ministries.”

Please join us in congratulating Olga Falakiseni on her new role at the Texas Conference.
