Spanish Women’s Convention Leads to True Freedom

The Spanish Women’s Ministries Convention made history this past September by bringing more than a thousand women to the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock, Texas. Attendees traveled from across the United States, predominantly Texas, as well as from countries such as Curaçao, Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala, making the event a truly international gathering.

The convention’s theme, “Verdaderamente Libre” (Truly Free), was inspired by John 8:36 NIV, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” This powerful message of freedom resonated deeply with participants, creating an atmosphere of spiritual renewal and empowerment.

While the venue offered the largest indoor waterpark in the nation and luxurious resort amenities, the true highlight of the event was the spiritual enrichment. The schedule was filled with impactful sermons centered on the concept of freedom, uplifting worship sessions and moments of strength found among peers. Attendees also had access to a dedicated prayer room, where they could experience freedom through scripture and prayer exercises. These experiences left a lasting impression on participants, leading to significant transformations.

One of the most notable stories came from a participant who traveled from outside of the country. She shared that before attending the convention, she struggled with suicidal ideations but found hope and freedom through the event. With newfound confidence, she celebrated her victory over darkness and her faith in Christ. This testimony was one of many that underscored the life-changing impact of the convention. Additionally, approximately 15 women were baptized, further signifying the event’s spiritual significance. Hundreds of ladies returned to their homes, workplaces and churches spiritually renewed and strengthened in their identity in Christ.

Participants were also encouraged to embrace their individuality through themed attire reflecting various seasons. For instance, teenagers wore spring-inspired outfits with floral patterns, while older women chose darker, winter tones. This symbolic representation of life’s seasons added a meaningful and creative touch to the event.

Building on the success in Round Rock, another convention held in the Valley area from October 4-6, 2024, served approximately 325 women. The message of “Truly Free” continued to inspire and uplift, ensuring the retreat’s mission of spreading hope and renewal reached even more communities. Through these gatherings, lives were transformed, and faith was strengthened.
