When Jesus chose the individuals who were to proclaim the truths to change the world, He did it with a plan.

According to Ellen G. White in The Acts of the Apostles, Jesus “purposed to train and educate … the leaders of His church. They in turn were to educate others and send them out with the gospel message,” (p. 17). By following Jesus’ interaction with His disciples and followers through the Gospels and seeing them in action in the book of Acts, it is not difficult to conclude that the fulfillment of Christ’s mission, summarized in Matthew 28:18-20, includes an intentional cycle of training, an interexchange of expertise “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” Ephesians 4:12 NKJV, from one generation to the next.

To continue with this trend established by Jesus Christ and take advantage of the present resources in the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, we started a series of leadership online training events called Tutoriales de Liderazgo 360 (Leadership Tutorials 360). Rather than using a seminar format or prerecorded video, we took the more dynamic approach of interacting live with those who tuned in through our virtual platforms.

Our first season includes seven tutorials in the areas of small groups, children’s ministries, young adults, preaching, Sabbath School, worship and evangelism. The format is simple, honest and as fresh as we can make it.

Twice a month on a Tuesday evening, we invite an expert on the chosen subject and talk for an hour in a roundtable format. That’s it. During that conversation, we monitor the activity on our social channels, integrate the comments shared and include any questions in the discussion.

Though we are still learning and trying to improve this format, the response from our members and local leaders has been excitingly positive. That keeps us motivated and willing to take risks to advance God’s cause and fulfill the gospel commission.

Previous episodes are available to view online, and more are coming, so plan to join us live for an upcoming episode. Please email hispanicministries@txsda.org if you have any questions.
